This technique is great to counter the straight punches. The most important thing is to parry the straight punch first and then step the appropriate side , making the low kick under the straight punch. I.e move to the left to counter the jab and move to the right to counter the right straight.

When talking about combat sports, there are a lot of things that come to my mind. The most frequently used combat sports are probably karate and boxing. I mean, karate and boxing both are great to watch, they make use of fast techniques and evasive maneuvers, however, Muay Thai is considered the strongest combat sport in history. Experts say that the techniques that Muay Thai use are the best in both offense and defense. It is really the pinnacle of combat sport greatness.

It is good to know a counter combination against a straight punch. Most of the people in the streets would strike you first by using a straight punch or a wild swing. It is important to know this type of counter just in case those kinds of scenarios would arise. A Muay Thai technique like what you have posted is effective in closed range combat. When done correctly, it could bring a devastating strike to an enemy. Thank you for sharing this technique with us.
